This year ADDCO is undertaking two large tasks in one project. One
is to improve the handling of one of the best handling vehicles in
production today. The other is to bring the first aftermarket active
handling system to market. It is easy to improve the handling on a
70’s muscle car or a SUV, but a 1970 lb street legal go cart
will be a challenge. Not only that, but to make the car handle exactly
how the drivers demands, from the steering wheel. We think that this
is a great project for readers to follow. New innovation, exotic cars
and the race track. |

On May 5th, we are taking a stock 05 Lotus Elise, to Moroso Motorsports
Park for some repetitive laps to get an average lap time and measure
maximum G’s on the skidpad. Then we are working over the suspension
with front and rear swaybars with our new active handling technology
and some titanium control arms and springs. Then it is back to the
race track. Our goal is 1.7 g’s out of our lotus with our active
systems. Also we are going to make the car oversteer, understeer and
remain neutral all with the drivers controls. |

While we are at the track, we are testing this system on 2 C5
corvette racecars, and the new C6 corvette. Courtesy of Rathman

With the Lotus, we will be taking pictures of the parts, installation,
and proving of the suspension parts and the active handling system.
We would love the media to cover this build up and new parts available
to the aftermarket. ADDCO will support any coverage with advertising
of our suspension systems. This new system will be introduced to the
market at SEMA this fall. |
